Jailbreak iPhone/iPad or iPod Touch using Spirit on Linux
Spirit jailbreak method appeared some time ago on the Window and Mac, allowing the users of the OS to jailbreak their igadgets for OS 3.x (keep in mind though, that spirit is a jailbreak tool, and does not provide phone carrier unlock, you can use ultrasn0w or blacksn0w for that).

The Linux fans were left to fend for themselves, or use any of the above options to fulfill their jailbreaking needs. This situation has now been rectified by the release of Spirit for Linux. The source code for the release was provided by p0sixninja, but the GUI tool has been created by kerneldelmondo, providing Linux users with a GUI, so jailbreaking an iDevice can be just a click away from the comfort of their OS.
Spirit for Linux comes in 2 versions. Normal (for use with latest kernel of Linux) and another that is compatible with all *nix architectures. Of course, the support libraries will be different for all the different flavors of Linux, and installing the Spirit should be an art that only seasoned Linux users’ can accomplish (for me, sadly, that is a bridge too far, as I’m not a Linux user).
