A New York based company Adafruit announced a price of USD 2000 for anyone who comes up with an open source driver for Microsoft Kinect that could enable it for the PC use along with its exclusive Xbox 360 support. MIDI Capabilities on iOS 4.2

As soon as the iPad was released to the public, musicians already saw the possibilities of using it as a control surface.  However, looking at the audio production area of the Apple store, what applications are available now are still more on the guitar amp models and soft synths.  The reason behind that is because there was no way to send MIDI commands from iOS natively.  Some of the more creative music enthusiasts were able to find some workarounds though.
