New iPod Touch with retina display, FaceTime and HD video recording

After much anticipation, and the usual media frenzy, Apple finally released the latest version of its iPods. The features for the latest iPod Touch 4G are below, while you can click on the links for the iPod nano and iPod shuffle. Other announcements regarding Apple TV and iTunes 10 are here.
While the latest iPod Touch continues the Apple tradition of being the “iPhone without the phone” with the update including all the features one might expect the iPod Touch to have.
The latest features include:
- The Retina display at (960 x 480) pixels.
- FaceTime support for video calls via a wifi network,
- A front camera for Facetime use,
- A 5 megapixel rear camera that can record at 720p resoltion,
- an Apple A4 core
- new 3D gyro control
- Game Center support(Apple’s new Multiplayer game app)
The pricing and availability of the new iPod Touch 4G are as follows, $229 for the 8GB, $299 for the 32 GB, and $ 399 for the 64GB. preorders start today, with shipping to begin in a weeks time.
