iPhone 3GS Can Play 1080p Video
Before the iPhone 3GS was launched, Apple was really quiet about whether the new iPhone is capable of playing the HD videos or not. It had all the required hardware to play HD, but apple didn’t announce it.
Recently, a Chinese forum claimed that the 3GS could play 30Mbps 1080p HD playback. The forum member claimed that the iPhone 3GS can play both 720p and 1080p video encoded in H.264 through iPhone’s own video player. He accomplished this by using document storage and viewing application FileAid to bypass Apple’s restrictions and playback HD files.
Though the playback quality was not as smooth as one may have anticipated, which maybe the reason behind this secracy. The playback is a bit blurry and crippled, and not up to the Apple standard.
Maybe Apple is planning to reveal this feature in their next firmware upgrade after resolving all the issues and fixing all the bugs.
