How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 on Windows with Sn0wbreeze [With Screenshots]

H8sn0w, has released their first beta software called “sn0wbreeze” which works with Windows XP/Vista/7 and is used to make a custom firmware for your iPhone or iPod touch. The current version of Sn0wbreeze supports iPhone 2G/3G/3GS(non MC) and iPod touch 1G and 2G (non MC).

Follow this simple, step-by-step guide to jailbreak your device:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. You can download it from here.
  • Download iPhone OS 3.1.2 firmware from Apple. Try any of the following links which suits you:

iPhone 3.1.2 download (iPhone1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)

iPhone 3G 3.1.2 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)

iPhone 3GS 3.1 download (iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)

  • Download Sn0wbreeze
  • Now launch iTunes, allow some time to sync with your PC for data backup and then launch Sn0wbreeze
  • Hit the “Next” button

  • Choose simple mode and click “Next”

  • Now browse to the directory where you put your downloaded firmware, the one which you just downloaded for your device. Select it and then continue.

  • Allow it to process. It would take few minutes before the process is completed.

  • Now it will ask you about the activation of your iPhone. Hit “Yes” if you have a contract, or no for otherwise.

  • Hit “Next” button. Your custom firmware would be finished cooking in a while now.

  • Once its done, its time to restore your iPhone
  • Simple launch the iTunes, go to your device, make a “Shift + Left click” on the “Restore” button. It will open a new windows. Select the custom firmware file which you just created. It will now restore your iPhone to that Jailbroken firmware.

  • Congratulation! You have suceesfully Jailbroken your iPhone 3.1.2 with Sn0wbreeze.
