HBO Go Service for iPad Coming in 6 Months

HBO Go Service is for paid HBO customers that allows them to access HBO Original Movies, TVShows and Sports on their computer or TV in High Definition (HD) quality. The advantage of this service in comparison to the wired cable service of HBO is that HBO Go service is more like a Video on Demand (VoD) where you can easily access past TV shows and programs and watch it any time you like.

In a recent interview, HBO CEO Reed Hastings stated that they have plans to launch HBO Go services soon on iPad and other mobile device. We would have to wait approximately six months before this happens.

There is also a possibility that this app would allow users to stream over a 3G network, which means that wherever you go, you should be able to access all the stuff from HBO, right on your iPad 3G. Nothing can be said for sure about this until its released in the market.

    This is definitely pretty cool. I’ve actually been looking through the HBO Go content for the last couple of days and they’re offering a lot. I’m terrible about remembering to set my DVR, so as a DISH Network employee I’ve known about DISH’s live streaming site: DISH online and have been using it to keep up with a lot of the shows that I miss and I couldn’t be happier that HBO is adding to the extensive list of titles that were already available. Definitely worth a few moments of your time. And as far as streaming to mobile devices goes, DISH also has a wonderful option for that with their TV everywhere service. It lets people watch any and all of their programming on a variety of mobile devices anywhere they can get a decent WiFi or 3G signal. It’s perfect for anyone who travels or is constantly on the move.
