Google:New Android Feature to be announced today

Google confirmed that the company will announce a new Android feature today, August 12, at an event in San Francisco. Much mystery surrounds this sudden call for a press conference by Google, as many of the features of the Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ are known and already much documented. Could this be a surprise that Google has decided to spring on an unsuspecting public, let’s wait and see.
This is a “small event” that will result in a Google blog post, according to a Google spokesperson, so it’s unlikely to be a major announcement like Android 3.0 “Gingerbread.” We’re more likely to see a new Android feature or application, such as Google Maps Navigation or Google Goggles.
As Android 2.2 is currently rolling out to phones such as the Sprint EVO 4G and Motorola Droid X, we may get an update on that progress.
