Fring Brings Video Call for Smartphones

Fring has announced their new mobile application on different platforms including Java, Android and Mac which enables the user to make video calls from their handset using either the 3G or a WiFi Network. Though this application is available for iPhone users, the iPhone does not have a front-end camera, which means that the video conversation would be one-way only.
The other way around to perform a face-to-face video chat (or lets say it two-way video call) on iPhone would be to stand in front of a mirror in such a way that camera could focus your image in the mirror. In this way, you’ll be seeing your friend on your iPhone and your friend we’ll be seeing you in the mirror. Its a bit awkward but its the only way to have two-way video call with the currently available iPhones. And yes, it would definitely work
Their press release on making a video call through iPhone using Fring can be found here.
The Fring currently does not support all the smartphones in the market, in fact some very famous and high-end handsets of Nokia do not support the video call feature in Fring. List of cellphones which support Fring Video Calling is given here.
Smartphones from other mobile manufacturers which support two-way video calling on Fring are these:
Motorola v6maxx, L9, Razr2 V9
Samsung G600, G800, U600, U900
Nokia 5310, 5610, 6300, E61, N76, N78, N81, N82Sony Ericsson c702, c902, k660, k770, k850i, w580, w660i, w760, w890, w910, w980, z770
