Facebook has launched a new service, called Facebook Lite which is basically a scaled down version of facebook. It would feature only the basic news feed, and would eliminate the side bars, chatting box, applications etc.

The main purpose of launching Facebook Lite is to facilitate those persons who have a low speed Internet connection, so that they can atleast catch the very basics and important stuff from their friend using that Social Media.

In my opinion, that service isn’t that useful at all. While browsing the lite version, you’ll have a feeling of using facebook in late 90s, with a really scattered and unattractive UI, and if you’re one of the person who checks their facebook several times a day on a decent Internet connection, forget that you’ll ever be able to get used to of this service.
