The French site hardmac has revealed that the renewal of the Mac line is in the offing, including the Mac Pro. The launch is planned for the end of the summer, making it a ‘back-to-school’ season launch for Apple. The iMac update should follow in the autumn.

Apple has released the iOS 4.0.1 update, in tandem with the press conference to try and alleviate consumer problems with respect to the reception issues that the new iPhone 4 has been facing. Apple hopes with this patch to solve the problem via software, (rather than resort to a costly recall).

Yesterday during Apple’s press conference concerning antenna/reception issues with the iPhone 4, Steve Jobs tried deflect attention away from the device and assert that it was an industrywide problem. Jobs went on to show videos of various phones from competing manufacturers succumbing to attenuation problems when held in a certain way.
