Previously, we reported about the new Android 2.2, codenamed Froyo update rollout for Nexus One device which was available via OTA (Over the Air). The users of Nexus One were getting notifications on their cell phone about the update and using it, they could have easily jumped to the Android 2.2 version.

Google has started rolling out its latest firmware update – Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo) for its Nexus One Users. Users of Nexus One must have already got a “Firmware Update Available” notification on their devices, and they can use that to upgrade. Else, you can do that manually too from your Nexus One.

A new app called SetCPU is now available in Android Marketplace which gives limited control of Mobile’s CPU to the user. The user can then overclock or underclock the processor according to their will. Reportedly, Motorola Droid has been overclocked to 1.2 GHz with the help of this app.

Verizon Wireless has started to roll out the new updated firmware to their users, which will update their Verizon Motorola Droid Eris to Android 2.1. The up-gradation process has begun already and if you haven’t received your upgrade yet then don’t worry, You will soon get a notification from Verizon about updating your Android firmware.
