At long last, the rumored, and much-awaited Magic Trackpad has been released by Apple to enable MacBook-like Multi-Touch functionality to its desktop line. The launch was a quiet launch, as far as Apple goes, just a simple update in its website, along with a refreshed Mac Pro and iMac line.

The company’s new Magic Trackpad is much more accessible at only $69. Billed as the largest of its kind, the multi-touch trackpad looks to be as tall as Apple’s wireless desktop keyboard. No dimensions are provided for what will invariably be referred to as the Magicpad, but it’s bigger than the trackpad on Apple’s MacBook Pro, which measures roughly 3″ x 4″. The Magic Trackpad connects via Bluetooth, so it’s only compatible with newer Macs that support the wireless standard. Apple has also introduced its own AA battery charger to complement the device.

Turning to screens, Apple unveiled a 27″ version of its Cinema Display. The new model slots in between existing 24″ and 30″ models at $999. Users can expect an IPS panel with a 2560×1440 display resolution, plus an integrated webcam, USB hub, microphone, and speakers. Apple won’t be shipping the new display until September.

Early this morning, Apple’s online store went offline for maintenance. It returned with a bounty of new products, including updated iMacs and Mac Pros, a 27″ Cinema Display, and the long-rumored Magic Trackpad.

new iMacs

Rather than revamping their respective enclosures, Apple focused on internal upgrades for its iMac and Mac Pro systems. The refreshed Mac Pros are due to arrive in August and can now play host to as many as two six-core Xeon 5600 series CPUs.

Quad-core versions of the system based on last-gen Xeons will start at $2499.

A single-CPU config with a six-core Xeon will also be available, and users will be able to pair a couple of Westmere quads for $3499.

Expect to drop at least $4999 for a dual six-core Xeons.

Unlike current Mac Pros, which come with a comically low-rent GeForce GT 120 by default, the new systems will start with a mid-range Radeon HD 5770. Users will be able to add a second 5770 or swap in a 5870, but the spec sheet curiously makes no mention of dual 5870s. The PSU may not have enough grunt to handle such a setup.

On the all-in-one front, the iMac is now available with a selection of Core i3, i5, and i7 CPUs.

Quad-core processors are limited to the 27″ iMac, which can be configured with Radeon HD 5750 graphics and even an SSD.

The 21.5″ variant is restricted to dual-core CPUs, but you can at least get a Radeon HD 5670 under the hood. 4GB of memory is standard across all of the new configurations, which start at $1199 and reach all the way up to $1999 for the quad-core 27-incher.

You didn’t expect the latest Macs to be cheap, did you?

A faster Firewire interface, 1600 or 3200. Thus, Firewire will not be forgotten.

Amidst all the iPhone 4G pre-order hoopla, Apple has quietly snuck in an update to the Mac Mini. And it’s not a spit and polish job, it seems quite a decent update. The two specifications on offer are:

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM
320 GB hard drive
$699

or the “server class” Mac Mini:

2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
Dual 500 GB hard drive
$999

Both models have been upgraded to the NVIDIA Geforce 320M integrated graphics chips, same as the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

And it’s not just the Specs that have been upgraded either, the enclosure itself is now a unibody aluminum construction, same as the MacBook Pro. Importantly, the Mac Mini is now the first Mac ever to include a bult-in HDMI port. The Mac Mini will also include an SD card slot at the back of the sleek aluminum enclosure.

Apple has also addressed the well-known difficulty of upgrading the Mac Mini’s RAM. There’s now a removable twist-off panel on the Mac Mini’s bottom that allows for easy access to the Mini’s RAM slots. We’re not sure yet if the hard drive will be as easy to upgrade, but at the very least, a RAM upgrade looks like it’ll take less than a minute with this new model.

The Mac Mini is available now.

Previously, we reported about the dual boot feature in jailbroken iPhones, which were rooted to the custom ROM and had the option to run OS of your choice, either iPhone OS or Android. We also posted about Android running on iPhone 3G and 2G.

Its not that easy to Install Android on iPhone, for starters you wouldn’t have any clue about what to do. We have previously posted a step-by-step guide about how to port Android on iPhone but thats a long procedure and could be tricky. An easy way to do the same task in now available for Mac users.

A new software with the name of iPhandroid is available for download which could help you to port Android on your iPhone in few easy steps while using your Mac computer. iPhodroid is an open source utility developed by Sergiomcfly to automate installation of Android on iPhone 3G & 2G. iPhodroid basically transfers all required files to your iPhone, and keeps the device safe.

Features of iPhodroid

1. Screen Log console to watch the steps

2. Touch , Audio & Wifi Working

3. Build Over Naltori’s unofficial 0.2b iDroid

4. Downloads MacFuse automatically if needed

5. Implemented Steps

Unfortunately iPhodroid is only available for Mac users and you must meet following requirement of jailbroken iPhone to use iPhodroid.

Requirements

1. Doesn’t work on iPhone OS 3.0 & 3.0.1

2. Password must be alpine

3. No Spirit Jailbreak only Redsnow support

4. SSH, MacFuse

5. Need to keep iPhone always ON

There has to be something really really wrong with Apple’s privacy as they have totally failed in keeping their pre-released stuff to themselves. First they lost hold on their iPhone 4G prototype, not once but twice. This time its their upcoming MacBook.

The details of this MacBook were posted on the same Vietnamese website that posted details about the lost iPhone 4G prototype. They have posted a video (check it at the end of this article) which shows a MacBook running on a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, increased from 2.26GHz in the previous generation, and graphics were given a shot in the arm with a NVIDIA GeForce 320M GPU.

Apple has released new versions of Macbook Pro which is available in 13, 15 and 17 inch with awesome processing power with the help of Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Both of the processors are in the top line of Intel currently and have more than enough processing power required by a notebook.

The price set by Apple for 17 inch Macbook Pro is $2299 while the price of 15 inch Macbook Pro is $1799. The 13-inch model starts at $1199.

The other highlighted features in this new series of Macbook Pro besides the Intel Core i7 processors is its powerful NVIDIA graphics card, which will bring your video rendering and photo-editing to a new life. Since not lot of games are supported on Mac platform, this won’t be of much advantage to gamers, but it surely is a feature for a reasonable price that comes handy.

The other salient feature of Macbook pro is its longer battery life, upto 10 hours and its aluminum unibody enclosure.
