Just quite recently, we posted a video here which anticipated the release of a new tool, called Blacksn0w, which could unlock iPhone OS 3.1.1 on baseband 05.11.07. Now that app is out and is an integral part of Blackra1n RC3 below is the related tutorial and step-by-step guide on how to unlock your iPhone on OS 3.1.2.

• First unlock your iPhone with the help of the tutorial posted here. This will Jailbreak your iPhone but will not unlock it.

Now here’s the important part. If you’re using Blacksn0w tool to unlock iPhone 2G, then you’ll need to perform the following task, as this app does not support unlocking of iPhone 2G devices natively. If you’re using iPhone 3G or 3GS, then skip the following step and move on.

How to use Blacksn0w to Unlock iPhone 3.1.2 Baseband 05.11.07 on iPhone 2G

• Launch Cydia, Search for an application called BootNeuter. Launch the app and perform the following settings:

Hit “Flash” when you’re done with the configuration. The whole process would approximately take 10 minutes (DO NOT ABORT THE PROCESS OR SHUT DOWN YOUR iPHONE!).

And now you’ll have an Unlocked iPhone 2G using OS 3.1.2 and running on baseband 05.11.07

For iPhone 3G and 3GS

• Go to the home screen of your iPhone, and launch the Blackra1n app (assuming that you have jailbroken your iPhone already!)
• After launching it, you’ll see some available packages, one among them will be “snow”, like shown in the image below:

• Simple install the package by tapping on it.
• Reboot your device. Now you have an unlocked iPhone, fit to be used on any carrier.
