Apple reduces iPad shipping delay to 24 hours
In a move sure to boost consumer confidence, Apple has finally come to grips with the weeks of shipping delay that has plagued its iPad since launch. It’s no question that Apple has certainly sold a lion’s share of its new tablet since the device’s April 3 launch—more than 3.27 million as of late July, to be exact.

However, the demand has forced Apple to push back release dates and shipping times for all but the most ardent of preordering, wannabe iPad owners over the past few months. Around every corner has been yet another delay, but new reports indicate that Apple has finally come to terms with its iPad production and is now shipping devices within one day of being ordered—a welcome relief for those who’ve previously had to wait a week, or more, to put their fingers on one of the company’s latest products.
At one point shipping delays for iPads ordered through Apple’s online store reached a wee over two weeks—15 days, to be exact. Delays bounced down slightly throughout May, June, and July to an average of seven to ten days.
Once August came around, Apple was able to tighten its iPad turnaround time to around three to five days. And now, the device—like all of Apple’s other products save for its iPhones—can be packed in a box and pushed out the door some 24 hours after a user places an order.
