150,000 BB Torch sold in three days
Well, it seems the new Blackberry Torch phone is off to a not-too-spectacular launch. The first three days of sales have seen the price halved, and now we know why.

Analysts at RBC Capital Markets and Stifel Nicolaus both put weekend sales at around 150,000 phones for the AT&T Exclusive RIM Blackberry Torch, according to The Wall Street Journal. The paper suggests the “plodding start isn’t great news for RIM,” with the iPhone selling roughly 1.6 million units during its first four days on sale.
Gizmodo argues those sale numbers still aren’t awful, given they roughly matched Palm Pre and HTC EVO 4G launch numbers, but they certainly don’t match the hype RIM tried to create; their CEO Jim Balsillie calling the smartphone “a quantum leap over anything that’s out there.”
The good news? If you like the Torch, it’s already on sale in many locations.Get more on the latest updates, announcements and news from Microsoft, Google and Apple by following updates on our new twitter or facebook page.
